BIPROGY Pilots Stablecoin Treasury Payments Between Japan and the U.S. with Bastion
The company behind Japan's first public cloud-based core banking system takes its first step toward stablecoin services for Japan's banks and corporations.

New York, NY, October 14, 2026 — Bastion, a stablecoin infrastructure provider for global enterprises and financial institutions, today announced a strategic partnership with BIPROGY Inc. (TSE: 8056) to pilot stablecoin payments between BIPROGY in Japan and its U.S. subsidiary, BIPROGY USA, Inc. The pilot began in October and moves funds in USDC on Bastion's platform. BIPROGY's core banking platform supports a wide range of financial institutions across Japan, including regional financial institutions, Norinchukin Bank, Shoko Chukin Bank, and digital banks.
BIPROGY Group has spent more than 60 years as a systems integrator, building financial systems and technology for its global customer base. Now, the company behind Japan’s first cloud-based banking system plans to develop solutions that enable the use of stablecoins for both corporate and retail customers. The first stage of the pilot involves BIPROGY conducting its own cross-border payments on Bastion's infrastructure.
“This year, we’ve seen corporate interest concentrate around internal treasury and fund movement use cases,” said Caroline Friedman, Chief Operating Officer, Bastion. “Companies are using internal pilots as a way to quickly develop operational expertise around new technologies they’re interested in leveraging in their own product offerings.”
Through Bastion, enterprises can custody, move and convert stablecoins through a single API. This allows clients to start moving funds immediately upon onboarding, without committing to a bespoke product build or a multi-year banking core overhaul. Bastion's team worked with BIPROGY's financial services strategy team to design the pilot, and will continue to serve as a strategic partner as BIPROGY expands the pilot and begins developing new stablecoin products.
"Enterprises rarely start with a single product spec. They start with practical questions: how fast money moves, what the accounting looks like, how to maintain controls, and what their auditors will need to see," said Nassim Eddequiouaq, Chief Executive Officer, Bastion. "The fastest way to answer those questions is to put real transactions through a real operating environment, with a partner who has built these programs before. BIPROGY helped build the banking infrastructure Japan runs on. Now, it's getting firsthand answers about what comes next, and we'll be working alongside them as they decide what to build."
BIPROGY is the latest Japanese enterprise to work with Bastion, following Sony Bank, whose global stablecoin initiative runs on Bastion's platform. BIPROGY is also an investor in Bastion through its North American corporate venture capital fund.
About Bastion
Bastion builds the full technology, operations and compliance stack behind enterprise stablecoin programs. Global companies and financial institutions use Bastion to build their own payment networks: custody, movement, conversion and issuance, secured at scale. Bastion operates under its own licenses or as a technology provider under its clients', and issues no stablecoin of its own, so clients maintain control of their brand, their users and their economics. Custodial wallets and conversions are provided through Bastion Platforms US, LLC and partnerships with other licensed entities.
